The raw, groovy sound of America.
When Ingebrigt Håker Flaten moved to Austin, it naturally didn’t take long before he found new musical colleagues.
The Young Mothers are a power house of a band. Over a deep, coarse and rough grooving rhythm section thunders impro and punked rap, Don Cherry-like blowouts and a fierce afrobeats roar straight down the sonic freeway. This is also Texas, this is also America: The bubbling, hissing sound of a melting pot.
New album coming out this year.
Jawwaad Taylor – trumpet, vocals, Jason Jackson – saxophone, Jonathan Horne – guitar, Ingebrigt Håker Flaten – bass, Stefan Gonzalez – drums, vibraphone, vocals, Francisco Rosaly – drums
