When Ingebrigt Håker Flaten moved to Austin, it naturally didn’t take long before he found new musical colleagues.

The Young Mothers are a power house of a band. Over a deep, coarse and rough grooving rhythm section thunders impro and punked rap, Don Cherry-like blowouts and a fierce afrobeats roar straight down the sonic freeway. This is also Texas, this is also America: The bubbling, hissing sound of a melting pot.
