After the first album "Tangos, Ballads & More" Steinar Raknes Quartet was a hit playing across the country's clubs and jazz festivals with a hot and sizzling cocktail of jazz, folk music and Latin American music. This spring comes the second album, "Live in Tokyo" - a wonderful concert recording from the Tokyo club Pit In. With Erlend Slettevoll, John Paul Inderberg and Håkon Johansen Mjåset on the team, we reckon that Steinar will top this concert when he stands on stage at Victoria in April!

Steinar Raknes is one of the leading jazz bassists and songwriters. The explosive playing sytle and powerful tone means that he is often compared with the legendary bassist and composer Charles Mingus. With solo project Stillhouse he has also shown that he is an exciting and distinctive vocalist.
