Splashgirl conjures up its slow intense, lingering yet growing, hypnotic instrumental music as a single entity. It’s a substance to sink into, a darkness that is warm, embracing safety, progressively drifting. The group has received a great deal of praise for their new, fifth album Hibernation, which you can hear is recorded in Iceland, mixed hot by producer Randall Dunn, who has also worked with among others Earth, Six Organs of Admittance, Sunn O))).
