Melodic and swinging vocal jazz

Some encounters have unexpected results. When the Norwegian singer Marit Sandvik, through coincidence and mutual friends, became connected with Italian Maurizio Picchiò in the summer of 2014, things moved fast. A project grant from the Northern Norwegian jazz Centre, and a short year later, the album Travel, with a top group of Italian musicians, was a reality! And now comes the tour.

The album "Travel" is melodic and swinging, influenced by both American and European jazz just as Brazilian popular music. Not so surprising when we consider that Sandvik has also released a bossa album "Uma onda no mar" with the sextet Bossa Nordpȧ.
