The Grammy-winning jazz vocalist Kurt Elling last visited Oslo  for Oslo Jazz Festival with a concert at the Opera. In 2011, he did his final performance at National jazz scene during a tour which also included an appearance on Skavlan. Kurt Elling began his career in the choir, and performed regularly at a club in Chicago. With his enchanting voice, he has a unique ability to combine the traditional and the modern in music. On his latest album 1619 Broadway – The Brill Building Project he pays respect to the building which after World War II was known as the American pop music center. Kurt Elling has been nominated for a Grammy Award ten times and won in 2009 with the album Dedicated to You.
