The Jazzland party continues with the multi-faceted and exciting vocalist Torun Eriksen. Since making a solid debut in 2003, she taken long and dynamic strides in her musical terrain. On the border of jazz, soul and country, she has playfully opened the door to groovy riffs, beautiful sound-scapes and daring takes on others’ songs. Always with an open heart, her contemplative and beautiful sound is delivered in her own characteristically cool and laid-back manner.

Now she comes ready with new music made from some well known collaborators, so we are also celebrating her fifth solo album «Grand White Silk» which is being released on Jazzland Recordings around the concert date!

A great singer with a cool character, an open and loving composer and importantly, a fantastic live act to experience this festive night!

Harpreet Bansal is an Indian violinist raised in Oslo, with one foot in both cultures. The combination results in burning sun and winter darkness broken by explosions of northern light. Improvisations are meditations, summer rains become intense storms. Harpreet’s compositions are close to the raga tradition of the motherland, and arrangements are made jointly and under the guidance of producer Jan Martin Smørdal. In genuine collaboration with percussionist, tabla player and voice artist Andreas Bratlie and the Czech pianist Vojtech Prochazka, also drawing from a diverse background including from studies of Indian music in Paris, Bansal is something completely original, exotic and exciting.

A perfect marriage of tradition and modernity, both eastern and western.
