Jazzland has been one of the most important jazz labels for the past twenty years. It still is.

To continue the much deserved year-long celebration of Jazzland recordings’ 20th anniversary, we have set aside two days to showcase the best of this important record label.
Bugge Wesseltoft’s ground breaking «New Conception of Jazz» is reborn with a new generation of jazz musicians, and it’s outstanding! Ten years after the last round the founding principle remains just as fierce and exciting, perhaps even more so now that Wesseltoft has picked some very exciting and hungry young musicians. We’ve experienced it and can promise you an energetic, outgoing band which, through new and old material, creates a sound that’s danceable, groovy and electric!

Farvel is a tightly woven sextet that uses confidence to take itself and audiences out on thin ice. It is quite an experience to hear Isabel Sörling carefully unfolding in front of the band’s free-improvised tripwires, all the while elegantly reshaping them as a new musical strength. In the strange lies the captivating, in the unknown lies beautiful melodies and musical experience of the highest quality. It’s no wonder that Jazzland will celebrate its anniversary with Farvel!
