Quietly quirky hybrid

Honest John begins where jazz ends and ends where it begins. But where exactly is that? A bunch of colourful improvisational musicians, as well as a seasoned contemporary composer and musician with at least one foot forever outside the box, continuously searching, even if the map is drawn with invisible ink. But as we know: the journey is the goal.

Along with Ab Baars, who we last heard from in ICP Orchestra, they bring along inspiration from Dutch jazz, Brazilian samba and Anton Webern, and they turn it into an original hybrid with angular rhythms and bubbling energy. An original sound that holds!
