Bill Frisell’s discography is as wide as the American prairie, and American traditional music lays the foundation to most of what he plays. The man who began his career playing with Garbarek and Arild Andersen, left the New York scene and John Zorn to go out into the wide open Americana landscape where he found both roots and Aron Copeland.

The project «When you wish upon a star» is a personal collection of film music from Hollywood’s golden era. It’s nostalgic, but also enlightening. Frisell manages to elegantly turn the essence of the old songs and present them as the skewed gems they are.

A perfect concert to light up dark and wet autumn evenings.
