This spring’s final Barnas jazzscene, this time with guests from South America! Our young jazz musicians from Barnas Jazzhus collaborate with other jazz-playing children from many different countries, and for this concert are visited by friends from a music school in Barquisimeto, Venezuela. The guests from afar will share the stage with Barnas Jazzhus’ own talented musicians, who are aged 8 to 14 years, but who have already built up solid stage experience, both here at Victoria and at jazz festivals in Norway, Germany and Japan.
The young musicians are all associated with Improvbasen, which is a center for the development of young jazz talent. Improvbasen is located in Oslo, but students come from all over eastern Norway, and the base also ties into talented young performers from other parts of the country, in addition to being involved in training projects in many European countries, as well as in Asia and South America.
So this is a call out to all music loving Oslo-dwellers: Bring children and youngsters with you to this concert! This is a perfect opportunity to let young people get to experience jazz live and meet skilled and interactive young musicians of their own age. An afternoon of joy and inspiration!
Barnas Jazzhus’ is supported by the Norwegian Arts Council and the Savings Bank Foundation.
