A unique and lyrical fusion of Norwegian hymns and Persian poetry.

When Tord Gustavsen and Afghan-German jazz vocalist Simin Tander visited us two years ago, it was a packed house. The combination of Norwegian hymns sung in Pashto and the aural poetry of the Persian medieval poet Rumi clearly hit a public nerve.

Simin Tander is one of the most exciting young voices in European jazz and masterfully intertwines modern jazz with the Middle Eastern music tradition. Tord Gustavsen is in many ways her counterpart: A fundamentally lyrical jazz pianist who never really let go of the folk and ecclesiastic heritage.

It is with great pleasure that we offer a new look at this genuinely distinctive project. Music that shines light in January darkness!
