Swing, standards and bossa nova from what just might be the next iconic jazz singer

Jazz has always had iconic vocalists, but since time doesn’t preserve anyone, there’s always a need for new stars. France’s Cyrille Aimée grew up right next door to a Django Festival. Currently, she lives in New York, but musically, she is equally at home in gypsy-swing and Brazilian bossa nova as in the great American songbook.

Earlier this year, she released ‘Let’s Get Lost’, an album in which she examines the entire width of the standards from the north to the south. This is charming and accessible music, sometimes on the verge of pop, sometimes deep in tradition, from someone that could quickly become the next big iconic jazz singer!
