When Brad Mehldau visited Victoria last, there was a full house and jittery mood. This time Mehldau push the piano to the side, adds 220 volts with electric piano and synths, and together with the dynamic NY drummer Mark Guiliana show a very interesting side of himself. This project is a journey in repetitive notes and rythms that united becomes a vast landscape, always with Mehldau´s distinct sensitivity as a watermark. It is electrically organic, raised to perfection with Mark Guiliana´s impressive rhythmic variations that captivates. Comments from previous concerts have been full of praise, «two of the world’s most refreshing instrumentalists who make human live electronic music with improvisation and precision.»
This will be a night for the history books, like sitting in the control room of a spacecraft with an unobstructed view of the stars whizzing by!
