Still going strong, Norway’s queen of jazz turns eighty!
In May we are celebrating a living legend, and the jubilee is hosting the party herself! We’ll be frolicking in several of Karin Krog´s exciting projects, so expect a joyous evening with many flavors of her amazing career!
Karin Krog is arguably one of the most important Norwegian jazz musicians and has been since she album debuted in 1964. Krog was an early explorer with vocal techniques and electronics, and has toured around the world with both Norwegian and international fellow musicians, earning a large audience both at home and abroad. As recently as 2013 Karin Krog received the Norwegian Grammy Award in the jazz category for the album “Songs About This and That” with John Surman. She has also been sampled by hip hop artist Madlib, she owns and manages her own catalog. This night her record label Meantime Records will publish a rich anniversary box filled with goodies!
