VCDC was established when the duo Motsol (Stine Janvin Motland, voice and Stale Liavik Solberg, drums) had the opportunity to choose two of their favorite musicians to perform with them during MaiJazz in 2009. The combination of Motsol and the American cellist Fred Lonberg-Holm and Stavanger clarinetist Frode Gjerstad aroused enthusiasm amongst both the public and the musicians, and the group had no option but to continue the coperation. After a Scandinavian tour in 2010, the group recorded their debut album "VCDC", and since then they have continued to develop and strengthen their unique expression.
