Sylvie Courvoisier is originally from Switzerland but has been living in New York for the last 20 years, where she has been a prominent musician on the alternative jazz scene. Working with, among others, Mark Feldman, Tim Berne, John Zorn and Ellery Eskelin, she has released records on Zorn’s Tzadik label and on ECM. Since 2010, Courvoisier has also been traveling all around the world as a composer and musician on Israel Galvan’s Flamenco project «la Curva».

She comes to Victoria with her regular trio of the past 12 years.
