Sometimes you get the impression that everyone in America turns out to be from Canada. And so it is with Harris Eisenstadt. The band Canada Day has been around for just under a decade, and their latest album, Canada IV, stands as a high point so far. Saxophonist Matt Bauder is not unfamiliar with Canadians, having toured for 12 months with Arcade Fire.

Eisenstadt writes complex, sophisticated music that remains accessible and honest for the listener. The songs have an unmistakably European flavor, but one can also find traces of West African rhythms and American punch.
