FFEAR (Forum For Electro-Acoustic Research) is an improvisation quartet led by renowned musicians and longtime stablemates, Ole Mathiesen and Chris Washburne. The New York Times has called their projects a "distinctly cosmopolitan post-bop collective”) and FFEAR has performed to full houses in both the U.S. and Europe - including the Molde Jazz. FFEAR want to challenge the conventional use of rhythm and tone by introducing classical compositional elements in an improvisational setting, in a way to create new and fresh musical ideas.
